COVID Precautions

At this time, masks are optional at SALT and we do not require proof of vaccine status or testing. Masks are not able to be worn during tech rehearsals and performances. If the guidance changes in the months ahead, we will also adjust our precautions.

Audition Date

Auditions for teens/adults will take place via time slots on July 14th & 17th at our SALT West Chester location (19 Hagerty Blvd, West Chester, 19382).

Callbacks, including the dance call, will take place on the evening of July 19th, 2022 at our Chester Springs location (1645 Art School Rd, Chester Springs, 19425).

Auditions for children who are UNDER 4 feet tall will take place cattle call style on July 17th at 3PM at SALT's West Chester location (19 Hagerty Blvd, West Chester, 19382). There is nothing for them to prepare in advance. They just need to fill out an audition form above and then show up. The audition will last for 1 hour. Please measure your child before coming as we are only casting 3 children who are UNDER 4 feet tall, and we will measure upon arrival.

Performances & Rehearsals

Performances will take place on the weekends of October 14-20, 2022. We ask all cast members to reserve the Thursday evenings prior to these weekends for potential added performances. 

The Read Through will take place on July 24 at 6PM. Rehearsals begin on July 26 and will take place on Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday evenings from 6-10PM. Please be sure to list all schedule conflicts on your audition form.

Audition Format

Adults/Teens:  Please prepare 2 Rogers & Hammerstein song cuts, 32 bars each clearly marked on your sheet music in a binder for our accompanist. The songs CAN be from the show but do not HAVE to be.

Character Descriptions

We are seeking to cast 3 children who are under 4 feet tall, as well as teens & adults of all genders, races, abilities, and body types for the following roles:

Ella:  Cinderella, Female, Soprano, Stage Age 22-30, must portray purity & passion

Marie:  Fairy Godmother, Female, Soprano, Stage Age 30-60, unpredictable, warm spirit

Charlotte:  Step-Sister, Female, Mezzo-Soprano, Stage Age 22-30, power-hungry & greedy

Gabrielle:  Step-Sister, Female, Mezzo-Soprano, Stage Age 22-30, wants to make her own decisions about love and what she believes in, has a character arc

Topher:  Prince Charming, Male, Baritone, Stage Age 22-30, must have excellent comedic timing, come across as kind-hearted and portray naivete

Sebastian:  Prince Charming's Advisor, Male/Female, Stage Age 30-60, must have excellent comedic acting chops, clinging to the old ways of how things are done, uppity

Jean-Michel:  Townsperson in love with Gabrielle, Male, Baritone, Stage Age 25-35, passionate about being a voice for the lower class

Lord Pinkelton:  Town Crier, Tenor, Stage Age 20+, classical full rounded vocal chops 

3 Small Children:  Whimsical Fairies/Sprites, Any gender, under 4 feet tall, can do physical acting and be expressive

Ensemble:  Townspeople, Knights, Royalty, Servants, etc, Stage Ages 20-100, Must be singers/dancers


This is a community theatre production performed on a volunteer basis.
