Character Descriptions

We are seeking non-Equity adult actors/singers who move very well. Particularly seeking BIPOC, all gender identities, all backgrounds, and differently abled actors. This will be an adult (18+) cast.

Seymour Krelborn (Vocal range A2-G4): An insecure florist's clerk with a hero's heart. He is a genuine, eager, and heart-breaking mess.

Audrey (Vocal range G#3 to D5): Sweet and vulnerable demeanor with poor self-worth and education. She has a clever fashion sense and is very attractive, especially to Seymour.

Mushnik (Vocal range G2 to F4): The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop. A profit-driven, greedy, and quippy boss trying to survive and make the most of Seymour's success.

Orin Scrivello (Vocal range G2-G4): An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend is slimy and condescending in the most detestable way. This actor also portrays a variety of characters on the street, customers, media persons, etc.

Crystal, Ronnette, and Chiffon (Vocal ranges Ab3-F5): Bold, sneaky, trio of street urchins acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, and the only characters who have a grip on reality in our story. These roles will demand the highest level of dance ability in the production.

The Plant "Audrey II" (Vocal range G2-G4): An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart "villain." Rhythm and blues styling. This character is the most manipulative, powerful, and smooth of them all.

Compensation
