Submit an AUDITION FORM prior to auditions.

The initial audition may be submitted via video or done in-person. Video deadline is Sept. 10, 2022. In-person auditions will take place on Sept. 12, 2022. If doing in-person, register for a time slot via the SIGN UP GENIUS.

COVID Precautions

SALT is mask optional for rehearsals and we do not require proof of vaccine status nor testing. Masks are not able to be worn during tech rehearsals and performances. If our policies change in the months ahead we will inform the cast at that time.

Audition Date

The initial audition may be submitted via video by Sept. 10, 2022 or done in-person via a time slot on Sept. 12, 2022. Callbacks will be in-person and by invitation on Sept. 14, 2022. All in-person auditions and callbacks will take place at SALT's Chester Springs MainStage location.

Performances & Rehearsals

Performances will take place on the weekends of December 2-18, 2022. We ask all cast members to reserve the Thursday evenings prior to these weekends for potential added performances. 

The Read Through will take place on the evening of Sept. 21. Rehearsals begin on Sept. 26 and will take place generally on Sunday afternoons and Monday/Wednesday evenings. Please refer to the PRODUCTION SCHEDULE for all required availability. Please be sure to list all your personal schedule conflicts on your audition form.

Audition Format

Please prepare 2 song cuts, 32 bars each clearly marked on your sheet music in a binder for our accompanist. The songs CAN be from the show but do not HAVE to be. Also be prepared to tell us your favorite Christmas/Holiday memory. If submitting a video with this content, you must email it to Lmccomas@saltpa.com by Sept. 10, 2022.

Character Descriptions

We are seeking to cast teens & adults (plus a couple of children ages 9-12) of all genders, races, abilities, and body types for the following roles:

Bob Wallace - a superb singer with a crooning style who moves well

Phil Davis - strong jazz and tap-dancing needed; a song-and-dance comic performer

Betty Haynes - a female singer of quiet beauty and charm who must move well

Judy Haynes - strong jazz and tap-dancing needed; a major song-and-dance performer

General Henry Waverly - with the exception of one line, a non-singing role

Martha Watson - a winning, appealing character-comedienne 

Susan Waverly - stage age 9 years old, she must have an excellent belt voice and be able to move well
