Register for an in-person audition slot here. If the in-person audition slots are all full, video submissions are accepted by August 18 to the email lmccomas@saltpa.com. In-person auditions are preferred. 

About This Production

We are so excited to produce Anastasia as our holiday show in SALT 2.0's renovated space in Chester Springs! New video wall! New surround-sound system! New scene shop! New special FX! This will be a truly magical production!

Audition Dates

​​​Initial auditions will take place at our WEST CHESTER LOCATION (19 Hagerty Blvd, 19425) in person via time slots (register above) on the evenings of Aug 19 & 20, 2025. If you absolutely cannot make an in-person time slot on either evening (which is much preferred), video submissions will be accepted, emailed to LMcComas@saltpa.com by Aug 18. Please put "Anastasia Audition" in the subject of the email. Callbacks will take place if necessary and by invitation-only on the evening of Aug 22.

Performance Dates

Anastasia performances will take place on the weekends of Nov 21-Dec14, 2025. All performances will take place at SALT's Chester Springs location (1645 Art School Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425).

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will typically take place primarily in Chester Springs on Sunday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, & Thursday evenings (with a few exceptions). A full production schedule can be found here. Please note that the Mainstage production details on this document are in BLUE; please indicate all conflicts with the blue schedule on your audition form.
Please note that any conflicts with blue Mainstage tech rehearsals or performances will not be accepted. 

Audition Format

Please prepare to sing two song cuts (32 measures each) in the style of the show; one or both can be from the show, but they do not have to be from the show. Bring your sheet music with cuts clearly marked in a binder for our live accompanist.

Compensation

This is a community theatre production performed on a volunteer basis.

Roles

All roles are open and SALT encourages all performers ages 18+ to submit for any role regardless of type, gender, ability, race, ethnicity, sexuality, neurodiversity, and similarity to the source material or original Broadway cast. Anyone under the age of 18 wanting to be in Anastasia may register for Stagelight's cast, which will be produced by SALT and perform on the SALT stage the weekend prior to this opening (details for that found here). *The only exception will be the roles of Young Anya and Alexei. See below.

We are seeking to cast:

​​

​Anastasia (Anya): Female Identifying, 20's, Brave, fiery, and witty. She is both the elegant Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov and a scrappy, street-smart young woman that is determined to survive against all odds.
G3 - G5 Belt to D5. Disney-like Soprano or Mezzo.


The Dowager Empress: Female Identifying, 60s - 80s, Anastasia's Grandmother. She is regal and elegant with a tough exterior to protect her heart from the tragic losses she experienced.
Strong singing and acting skills needed.

F3 - Bb4 A Regal Mezzo.
 

Countess Lily: Female Identifying, 30s - 50s, Lady-in-Waiting to the Dowager Empress. She is loyal, protective, witty, and wise. Strong singing, movement, and comedic acting skills are needed.
G3 - C5 Jazzy Mezzo with an upper extension.


Dmitry: Male Identifying, 20s, A street-smart, handsome, and charming young man. Strong
singing, acting, and movement skills are needed.
A2 - G4 "Baritenor"

Vlad Popov: Male Identifying, 50s, A "good-natured, semi scoundrel." Before The Revolution, he scammed his way into the aristocracy. He is a surrogate father to Dmitry. Strong singing, comedic acting, and movement skills needed.
A2 - F4 Comic Baritone


Gleb Vaganov: Male Identifying, 20/30s, A young Soviet official. He is the villain of the story, although he is not a bad person. He believes in and is loyal to the new regime's ideals, and is ambitious to rise in its ranks. Strong singing and acting skills needed.
A2 - Gb4. Baritone with a strong upper extension.

Young Anya: Female Identifying, Stage Age 7-10 (must appear to be young/pre-puberty), seeking a child who can sing, dance, and act (please sing a cut of Once Upon a December for the audition).

Alexei: Male Identifying, Stage Age 7-10 (must appear to be young/pre-puberty), seeking a child who has good stage presence and can dance. 

​

Ensemble: 20s - 60s, A vital and heavily-featured component of this production, the Ensemble will play a vast array of characters including Soviet officers, aristocrats, reporters, ballet dancers, and Parisians. Strong singing, moving, dancing, and acting skills needed as many will have lines and solos. Some dancers will potentially be en pointe.
