COVID Precautions

At this time, SALT requires masks be worn for all rehearsals. In order to avoid disruptions to our rehearsal and performance schedule, if you are over the age of 18, only vaccinated individuals will be considered for casting. If you are under the age of 18, you will be considered for casting regardless of your vaccination status, but if you are not vaccinated, we will require a weekly negative COVID test result for you to participate. Audience seating may be sold at full capacity. As the guidance changes in the months ahead, we will also adjust our precautions.

Audition Date

Auditions will take place via time slots on the evenings of January 4 & 6 at our SALT Chester Springs location (1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425).

Performances & Rehearsals

Performances will take place on the weekends of April 15 - May 1, 2022. We ask all cast members to reserve the Thursday evenings prior to these weekends for potential added performances.

The complete production schedule, including all rehearsals, can be found HERE to reference as you list any conflicts that you might have on the audition form.

Audition Format

Please prepare 2 songs, 32 cuts each clearly marked on your sheet music in a binder for our accompanist. The songs CAN be from the show but do not HAVE to be. Please also prepare to tell us a story that somehow rhymes in 60 seconds or less. The story should be memorized and can be original, something about your life, an experience you've had, ANYTHING. Be creative.

Character Descriptions

All roles can be played by any gender, race, ability, and body type. SALT is strongly encouraging all performers to submit for whatever role(s) they desire, regardless of type or similarity to the original source material or Broadway cast. We are looking for a cast as unique and diverse as the creatures that inhabit the pages of Dr. Seuss’ books. While we are seeking mostly adults to fill these roles, we are open to casting a few teens (and Jojo would be an 8-12 year old).
