At the Playhouse, the 2020-2021 school year will be offering sessions in the mornings (September-May) in West Chester for ages 3-6. Each day, children will take part in group activities in the areas of music & movement, academics, and dramatic storytelling. Additionally, each day, the children will participate in a "special" of either tap, ballet, gymnastics, or the fine arts. An alternative to regular preschool, SALT Playhouses will provide children with a developmentally appropriate approach to cognitive skills such as problem-solving and decision-making, as well as language development, all through the performing arts.

This program is designed to be a supplement to either homeschooling or another preschool program as it is solely focused on enrichment of singing, acting, and dancing lessons while putting on a full blown musical production twice a year.

The sessions will include rotations between academics, music & movement, dramatic storytelling, fine arts, ballet, tap, and gymnastics. Each session will include a family-style lunch experience where instructors will sit with the children to teach and encourage group conversation, manners, and social skills (question-asking, active-listening, etc). Three times throughout the year, the children in all the sessions will perform a showcase for their family and friends that will be held at the SALT Performing Arts theatre in Chester Springs.

The SALT Playhouses’ mission is not to train up young performers, but rather to instill self-confidence in children. The ability to present oneself before a crowd is a noteworthy skill to possess and one that is easily instilled at an early age when self-consciousness is forming. SALT believes that when children are confident, they are less apt to be susceptible to or participate in bullying, they feel empowered to use their strengths and abilities for the betterment of others, and they are less likely to struggle with insecurities and anxieties.

Registrations are NOW OPEN for the 2020-2021 sessions. Space is limited to allow for individualized attention. Cost is $32/day: 2-days-a-week is $242/month, 3-days-a-week is $363/month, and 4-days-a-week is $484/month.
